Beach Tennis: the Asia-Pacific Tour

| June 11, 2010 | 15 Comments

Do you love tennis or beach tennis? Do you love to travel? Traveling is a lot of fun by itself, with new destinations and new people you meet being an eye opening experience that keeps you busy and in awe most of the time. Yet sometimes the trip itself can be made into an even more memorable experience if you are able to practice a hobby or sport you really enjoy. Many of my travels have been surf trips, and I still surf whenever I can while on the road. However in this trip we decided to shoot an unusual video of us playing beach tennis in all the countries we visited across Asia and the Pacific, usually at a landmark or popular spot. And yes, we did carry the paddles and ball all around around the world for 10 months! Inspired by Matt Harding (www.wherethehellismatt.com) this is what came out. If you love tennis and love to travel I know you will enjoy it at least half as much as the fun we had filming it!

The Beach tennis is verry Funny Game I love it . It is super important to find ball from quality rubber otherwise it is difficult to play.

Great video. I love playing frisbee by the beach or catch with my dog. Being next the water brings a different vibe than doing these activities in the backyard. Thanks for sharing!

I don’t think I have enough coordination to play that game, much less attempt to do it in multiple places without it falling into the water of off a cliff.

    Great video! Really enjoyed it!

Mate, this is hilarious! And must say you’ve got a nice backhand you’ve got there! ;) Congrats on finding a remarkably unique way of showing us your travels!

And didn’t that Japanese person say anything when you were flicking the ball in front of his/her/its face?

      Hi Dylan!

Thanks! Creating the video was heaps of fun, and fortunately the japanese lady didn’t even look back. Perhaps she thought she had mistakingly stepped into Wimbledon’s main court? ;)
