HDR Photo: Hacienda San Diego in Chihuahua

Hacienda San Diego

Hacienda San Diego is one of the most fascinating estates in Chihuahua but unfortunately has been abandoned and no maintenance is taking place. It was built in 1874  and although initially used to grow livestock it was eventually  occupied by revolutionary Francisco I Madero who would lead the Mexican revolution from here to become president in 1911.

    1. Hey Craig, that’s odd cause I was there 2 months before and my guide told me it was not in use any more. There certainly wasn’t anyone when I took the pic. Lucky you anyhow!

  1. Hi,

My name is Jeff Richins and I am working on a book about my great grandfather. I was looking for a picture of the San Diego Hacienda and found your site. It’s a great picture.

I would like to ask permission to use the picture in my book (attribting credit to your site). Is that a possibility?

  2. I can a see a beautiful picture that has this huge and ancient house like the one which was earlier used by rich people to stay in. Though old the it looks magnificient with a peaceful surrounding. I wish I could spend a good holiday there exploring the nearby places.
