Ibiza is an island in the Balearic Islands, Spain that, with its beautiful sunsets, exotic beaches, and a modest population of 132,637 makes it a perfect romantic getaway. Ibiza is the third largest of the Balearic Islands, and its largest cities are Ibiza Town (or Vila), Santa Eulària des Riu, and Sant Antoni de Portmany. However, beaches and wonderful landscapes are not the only things that this destination can offer; Ibiza is probably better known for its wild nightlife and shows performed by the best DJs in Europe (such as David Guetta, Luciano, Sven Väth et al). It is this that has made the island famous, yet it´s not all about letting loose and partying like there´s no tomorrow. In Sant Antoni de Portmany’s you can find a strip of mellow cafes you can enjoy while watching the sunset, or even roam the ramparts of Ibiza City’s Unseco-listed Dalt Vila to immerse yourself in the island’s rich heritage and there´s more.
Santa Eulària des Riu is a classy little resort on Ibiza’s southeast coast that has earned a reputation for being the island’s gastronomic centre, as well as having art galleries, designer boutiques and high-end gift shops. When in Santa Eularia there are different activities you can enjoy, but among the most popular are scuba and snorkeling, walking along the seashore, Puig de Missa, boat tours, and, of course, the beach at Es Figueral!
While Sant Antoni and Ibiza Town are more known for their nightlife and electronic music, Santa Eulalia has managed to retain an authentic old-world feel and still oozes bags of traditional charm, which makes it the most appropriate destination for a romantic getaway for couples in Ibiza. However, if you want to visit Ibiza Town with is cobbled streets, Gothic buildings, churches, and 14th-century cathedral, you are only a 20-minute drive away!

Around a well populated place with water mills rises a mountain crowned with a church devoted to Saint Eularia, a Saint from Barcelona, that was built to protect the people from the pirates that were attacking the shore of Santa Eularia. It´s considered a historical place both for the church with its defense tower and for the whole mount. In principle, the temple had, in addition to the high altar, four altars dedicated to Virgin of the Rosary, Virgin of Carmen, Saint Anthony Abad and the Saints Doctors Cosmus and Damina. Centuries later, in 1760, three additional altars or chapels are to be found there, dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, to the Virgin of Bethlehem and to the Most Holy Trinity. At the Puig de Missa we find as well the peasant farmer’s house that houses the Ethnography Museum of Eivissa, with an important graphic collection of the islands traditional rural scope: clothing, jewelry, music, pottery, etc.
