How Vanuatu can be your dream destination- or not.

The world is waiting for you

Just think about it for a few seconds. Why not? What is really stopping you from packing a bag, booking a ticket and taking off? You might not be able to do it right now, but how about tomorrow? Certainly next week, let alone a few weeks from today. The point is that most probably than not you could actually leave everything behind for a few days, weeks, or even months if you wanted to, but somehting holds you back from taking that step. You have somebody to look after. You are not sure about where you would go. Your job won’t let you. Travelling is very expensive.  You are not supposed to.  Although many of these reasons might be applicable, they are so but only to some extent,  in most cases.

This said, it is not necessary to leave everything behind in order to pursue an “on the road”  lifestyle, because it can be done for a couple of weeks. It will not be a lifestyle, but it will be an experience. Simply give up your cellphone, laptop, TV, microwave oven and other gadgets for some time, and you will feel free. Because being free is what life as all about: being able to do wat you want to do when you want to do it and whith the people you want to do it.

After many years of travelling around the world (mind you, keeping full time jobs as well) the time has come to keep track of these experiences even if only to “couch travel” whenever I can’t in the future. Some posts will be long, others will not. Most will be travel dispatches, some wont.  What they all have in common though is that they tell simple stories of what I have seen and lived in a world you and I share, taking you from your chair to that hidden village where working from 9 to 5 in a 30+ floor building is something that supposedly exists but only because  the TV says so; to that little beach that we usually only see as a wallpaper of some computer;  to that city so busy yet so different that you just want to get lost in it.  Read, comment, discuss, ask… or simply daydream…and see you somewhere.
