The Aztec dances in Mexico City’s Zocalo are a free show not to be missed if you happen to be there on a Sunday. The ritual is held in memory of the found of Tenochitlan, the original Aztec city upon which modern Mexico City was built by the Spanish conquistadors, and while most of the times the show is only performed by ten or twenty actors I was lucky enough to see it when over 500 of them came from all over the country. Remember to watch the video in HD!

Wow – thanks so much for making that! When I visited Mexico City, the square was practically empty so it’s great to see it full of life like this. Cheers!
